This paper explores the role of e-learning in workforce development in Nigeria, emphasizing its significance in preparing the next generation for the digital economy. E-learning offers flexible and accessible educational solutions that address geographical barriers and infrastructural challenges, exemplified by initiatives such as the National Open University of Nigeria, which serves over 515,000 students. Despite its potential, the adoption of e-learning faces significant obstacles, including inadequate infrastructure, limited digital literacy, and high internet costs. This paper highlights the importance of collaborative efforts between government bodies, educational institutions, and private sector organizations to overcome these challenges. It also discusses the integration of e-learning with traditional education, the impact on youth employability, and the incorporation of technical innovations to enhance learning experiences. Through various case studies, it demonstrates how e-learning initiatives are equipping Nigerians with essential skills for active participation in the digital economy. Ultimately, the document advocates for a comprehensive approach to harnessing e-learning's potential in fostering a skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving economic landscape.
